Movie Review:

“The 355” is directed by Simon Kinberg, and it is the new all-female lead spy thriller with an all-star cast. I was excited for this film, but sadly I was disappointed; it was just the same typical spy movie I have seen a million times. The film does have some fun action scenes that are entertaining. This movie has a long list of problems from beginning to end. The biggest issue that I had was that the main characters were poorly written, one dimensional and boring. Jessica Chastain and Lupita Nyong’o play old friends who have a history, and they have great on-screen chemistry and I enjoyed watching their interactions. Penelope Cruz’s character was useless and annoying who complains and screams throughout. Jason Flemying plays the villain, and he an uninteresting and undeveloped character with no motivation or evilness. Unfortunately, the plot is a convoluted mess with so many plot holes that make no sense. Some of the cast members like Edgar Ramirez Sebastian Stan and Fan Bingbing were wasted and weren’t used well. Finally, the ending was terrible and pointless. This film proves that you can have a great cast but if you don’t have a good script and interesting story it just becomes another bland spy movie. I am giving “The 355” a 2.5/5 stars.
