Movie Review:

“The Banshee of Inisherin” is directed by Martin McDonagh and is a new dark comedy that is moving, hilarious, heartwarming, and crazy with incredible acting from its lead cast. Colin Farrell plays Padraic Suileabhain a compassionate Irishman who wants to have a simple life. Colin Farrell is spectacular in this movie and in my opinion, it is the best performance of his career. Brendan Gleeson plays Colm Doherty who is the opposite of Padraic. His character is funny, sarcastic and he has amazing chemistry with Farrell; they are playing off each other perfectly. This movie is a well-written script with dialogue that is sharp, witty, and smart. The person who steals the show was Kerry Condon as Padraic’s sister Siobhan. She is believable and relatable as the caring, protective sister. Barry Keoghan plays Dominic who has a tragic past as well as the town’s drunk, but he steals every scene with his humor. The only issue that I had was the ending which felt unsatisfying making me want more. But this movie knew how to balance comedy with shocking drama -- I loved it. I am giving “The Banshee of Inisherin” a 4.5/5 stars.
