Synopsis: Batman ventures into Gotham City's underworld when a sadistic killer leaves behind a trail of cryptic clues. Movie Review:

“The Batman” is directed by Matt Reeves, and this is a new incarnation of the iconic superhero that does not connect to the other DC cinematic universe; it is its own thing. In my opinion, this might be the best Batman movie since the “Dark Knight”. This film feels more like a 1970’s noir murder mystery like “Seven” and “Zodiac”. This movie explains why Batman is the world’s greatest detective. Robert Pattison plays a younger, inexperienced Bruce Wayne/Batman who is trying to figure out how to fight crime by using fear with harmful methods. I loved Robert Pattison as this humanly flawed character with lots of issues and demons. Jeffery Wright plays James Gordon/Robin and his relationship with Batman is one of deep friendship and partnership. Some of the best scenes in the movie are when they are doing their investigations. Andy Serkis plays Alfred Bruce Wayne’s loyal butler, and they have a complicated relationship that at times is very emotional. Zoe Kravitz plays Selina Kyle, and it is one the best romances I have seen in a Batman film in a long time. Paul Dano plays the Riddler a serial killer that is terrifying and tests Batman’s moral compass. Colin Farrell plays the Penguin and with great make-up and accent, he is unrecognizable as this gangster. Farrell stands out as this character. The action scenes are intense, violent, and exciting to watch. The only problem I had with the movie is that sometimes it seems like a traditional Comic book film, and it is way too long. “The Batman” is a thrilling murder mystery that will keep you on the edge of your seat from beginning to end. I am giving “The Batman” a 4.5/5 stars.
