The Beekeeper

Synopsis: One man's brutal campaign for vengeance takes on national stakes after it's revealed he's a former operative of a powerful and clandestine organization known as Beekeepers.

Movie Review:

“The Beekeeper” is directed by David Ayer, and this is the new action movie that is a fun throwback to the 90s movie. Jason Statham plays Adam Clay a secret government agent with a code name of Beekeeper who takes on a corrupt businessman. Jason Statham’s character delivers clever one liners and great action scenes along with a back story for his revenge path. Josh Hutcherson plays Derek Danforth a spoiled rich CEO that is a terrible human who makes a great villain to hate.   Jeremy Irons plays Wallace Westwyld another villain who didn’t have much to do in this movie.   Emmy Raver-Lampman plays Agent Verona Parker (an F.B.I agent investigating Adam Clay) who has an interesting story, but her character was dealt some eye-rolling dialogue at times. There were some issues I had with the movie.  It introduces a few over the top characters in the third act that felt cartoonish, and the ending was rushed. However, “The Beekeeper” was one of the better Jason Statham action movies I have seen. I am giving “The “Beekeeper “a 3.5/5 stars.
