Synopsis: Two highly-trained operatives are appointed to posts in guard towers on opposite sides of a vast and highly classified gorge, protecting the world from a mysterious evil that lurks within. They work together to keep the secret in the gorge.

Movie Review:

“The Gorge," directed by Scott Derrickson, is an original movie on Apple TV Plus that blends science fiction, horror, and romance into a fun, action-packed film. The movie features two great performances by its leads. Miles Teller plays Levi, a skilled sniper who is a loner with PTSD and no connections, but his charm and charisma make his character stand out. Anya Taylor-Joy shines as Drassa, a Russian agent who falls in love with Levi while they protect the Gorge.

The chemistry between Levi and Drassa makes the romance in the movie work, creating a romantic, intimate, and passionate connection that draws you in. The action scenes are exciting, with intense shootouts that feel like a survival horror video game.

The movie starts off slow, with about 45 to 50 minutes dedicated to setting up the romance between the characters, which can get a bit boring. Sigourney Weaver plays Barthoomew, the villain of the movie, who gives a decent performance but is underutilized, mostly sitting in an office delivering lines. The CGI for the creatures in the movie also leaves something to be desired.

Overall, "The Gorge" is an enjoyable romance-action movie that makes for a good time, especially for Valentine's Day. I would give it a rating of 3.5/5 stars.
