The Gray Man

Synopsis: When the CIA's top asset -- his identity known to no one -- uncovers agency secrets, he triggers a global hunt by assassins set loose by his ex-colleague.

Movie Review:

“The Gray Man” is directed by the Russo brothers, and it is based on the spy books of the same name. This film is an espionage spy thriller containing huge action set pieces and intense fight scenes that make this an enjoyable movie to watch. Ryan Gosling plays Court Gentry Agent 6 a criminal turned one of the best spies that the agency employs. Court is witty, smart, and good at what he does. Chris Evans plays Lloyd Hansen an assassin who is a diabolical psychopath and he is hilarious. Chris Evans plays this character so over the top, but he pulls it off. I did enjoy the cat and mouse game of spy vs spy of these two characters. Most of the supporting cast like Ana de Armas and Rege-Jean Page are playing predictable generic side characters that we have seen before. Billy Bob Thornton plays Donald Fitztory Court’s mentor and friend in the CIA, but his story line falls flat with clichés and predictability. What makes this movie standout is the incredible crazy action scenes that are big, exciting, and unique which felt refreshing, especially the Prague scenes. As a fan of spy movies, this is an entertaining ride from start to finish. I am giving “The Gray Man” a 3.5/5 stars.
