The Menu

Synopsis: A Couple travels to a coastal island to eat at an exclusive restaurant where a chef has prepared a lavish menu, with some shocking surprises

Movie Review:

The Menu” is directed by Mark Mylod, and it is an original thriller with some comedy mixed in that delivers a well cohesive, well written and incredibly acted movie; one of my favorites I have seen all year. What makes this film different and unique is the attention to detail -- the characters, the setting, and the delicious food. Ralph Fiennes plays Chef Slowik one of the top chefs in the world and he delivers a strong performance as this terrifying, calculating character who is a perfectionist. Anya Taylor-Joy plays Margot someone who is mysterious. Every scene she and Feinnes have together is intense and suspenseful. Nicholas Holt plays Tyler the boyfriend of Margot and he has the most humor of the movie. He is obsessed with this chief and the food he makes. There is a great twist with his character. The supporting cast is excellent as well with John Leguizamo, Janet Mcteer, and Hong Chau who all play interesting characters with dramatic backstories. The only issue that I had was the ending was a little disappointing. This movie will keep you guessing until the end. I am giving “The Menu” a 4.5/5 stars.
