Synopsis: One fateful night, the stars appear to align for Connor , a kind and unassuming young man, as his irreverent long-time crush Olivia steers them into a threesome with alluring stranger Jenny. The encounter sparks a relationship between Connor and Olivia and their love grows quickly, all the way toward planning a life together. But their happy romance is soon demolished when Jenny reappears in their lives, thrusting all three into a difficult and messy journey towards true accountability and adulthood.

Movie Review:

"The Threesome" is directed by Chad Hartigan and presents an original romantic comedy that is both sweet and humorous, featuring three strong performances from its lead actors. What makes this film effective is the comedic situation involving the two women, which adds a layer of hilarity, charm, and delight, ultimately evoking an emotional response by the conclusion. Jonah Hauer-King portrays Connor Blake, a 30-year-old who delivers a commendable performance as a kind, nice, and generous individual, making the audience care for him and his character. Zoey Deutch plays Olivia, the woman whom Connor has a crush on; she provides a funny, charming, and entertaining performance as someone caught in this unusual predicament, even though her character can be selfish and unlikable at times, which may lead to some annoyance. The film succeeds due to her remarkable chemistry with Connor, which makes viewers root for their relationship to flourish by the end. Ruby Cruz plays Jenny, the other woman who also becomes pregnant; she offers a sweet and charming performance, characterized by kindness and warmth, which endeared her to me. She shares excellent chemistry with Connor as well, leaving me uncertain about which woman he should ultimately choose. The film also features a humorous supporting cast, including Josh Segarra, Jaboukie Young-White, and Kristin Salesman, who contribute quirky and silly moments that elicited genuine laughter. However, the movie can be predictable at times, and it occasionally feels more like a drama than a comedy. There are moments in the middle where the pacing drags, leading to some boredom. Nevertheless, "The Threesome" remains a charming, sweet, and quirky comedy that brought a smile to my face, and I would rate it 3.5 out of 5 stars.
