Venom: Let There be Carnage

Synopsis: Eddie Brock is still struggling to co-exist with the shape-shifting extraterrestrial Venom. When deranged serial killer Cletus Kasady also becomes host to an alien symbiote, Brock and Venom must put aside their differences to stop his reign of terror.

Movie Review:

“Venom: Let There Be Carnage” is directed by Andy Serkis, and it is the sequel to the 2018 surprise hit. Just like the first film, Tom Hardy is the best thing in the movie. He plays Eddie Brock and his odd friendship with his alien symbiote Venom were some of the funniest moments of the film. The villain was so much better and crazier this time around. Woody Harrelson plays the deranged serial killer Cletus Kasady who also gets an alien symbiote and becomes Carnage. He escapes from prison for revenge and kills a lot of people in the process. Woody Harrelson is great in the movie with his psychopathic ways and his actions scenes with Venom were entertaining to watch. My biggest issue with the movie is the runtime -- it is too short, and it just ends too quickly. Also, Naomie Harris plays Shriek the love of Cletus Kassidy. I felt that her unlikeable character added nothing to the plot. Michelle Williams returns to play Anne and and just like the first film she is a damsel in distress again and is completely wasted. I thought most of the humor works but there were some moments that are cringe worthy and weird. For the most part, this is an entertaining movie. I am giving “Venom: Let There Be Carnage” a 3/5 Stars.
