Movie Review:
"Venom: The Last Dance" is directed by Kelly Marcel, making her directorial debut. It is the third and final film in the trilogy, offering a campy yet fun time at the movies. The best part of the film is the relationship between Eddy and Venom, which adds humor and entertainment. Tom Hardy delivers a great performance, especially in the emotional scenes with Venom that make their bond feel real.
The action scenes are exciting, with impressive CGI that stands out. The third act of the film is the strongest, with actual stakes and emotion that make it worth watching. However, some subplots, like Juno Temple's character Dr. Teddy Payne and Chiwetel Ejiofor's character Rex Strickland, feel unnecessary and underdeveloped.
The addition of Rhys Ifans as Martin Moon, a hippy searching for aliens, feels out of place and takes away from the overall experience. The film also introduces a villain named Knull the Demon, but fails to fully utilize this character, leaving the audience wanting more.
Overall, "Venom: The Last Dance" is a fun buddy road trip movie with an entertaining third act, but it falls short in some areas. I would give it a 2.5/5 stars.
