Movie Review:
"We Live in Time" is a film directed by John Crowley that tells an epic love story. It's a romantic drama that really captures the beauty of cherishing each moment and finding happiness. I have to say, this is one of the best romantic dramas I've seen in a while.
What really makes this movie work are the performances of the two leads, Andrew Garfield and Florence Pugh. They are both absolutely incredible in their roles. Florence Pugh plays Almut, a young and ambitious chef who is a complex person to be in a relationship with. Andrew Garfield plays Tobias, a recent divorcee who always seems to have bad luck in love. Despite his flaws, he's a likable and relatable character.
The chemistry between Andrew Garfield and Florence Pugh is amazing. They really make their relationship feel genuine, romantic, and loving. When tragedy strikes, it's even more heartbreaking because you've grown to love their relationship throughout the movie.
I was impressed by how the film balanced the romance with the tragic cancer storyline. It's more than just a romantic drama - it's a celebration of living life to the fullest and not wasting any time. There are also some funny and charming moments that feel authentic and not cheesy.
The ending is emotional and will definitely bring tears to your eyes. My only complaint is that I wish there was more development of Tobias's job and daily life, and some moments felt a bit predictable. The non-linear storytelling might be confusing at first, but you'll get used to it.
Overall, "We Live in Time" is a wonderful and heartwarming romance that will tug at your heartstrings. I give it 4 out of 5 stars.
