Movie Review:

"You're Cordially Invited" is a new original comedy directed by Nicholas Stoller, starring Will Ferrell and Reese Witherspoon. Unfortunately, the movie falls short with its unfunny pranks and immature humor that comes off as more annoying than humorous, resulting in a messy comedy.

The saving grace of the film is Will Ferrell's performance as Jim, a single dad determined to give his daughter the best wedding possible. Ferrell brings his signature charm and humor to the role, with some childlike moments that make him the standout in the movie. Reese Witherspoon also shines as Margot, the rival wedding planner, with great chemistry and entertaining banter with Ferrell.

The supporting cast, including Geraldine Viswanathan, Meredith Hagner, Jimmy Tatro, and Stoney Blyden, deliver funny and charming performances. However, the characters in the movie are mostly unlikable, making it hard to root for them. Some of the jokes are too over-the-top and immature, bordering on cartoonish at times.

Towards the end, the movie becomes predictable, eliciting eye rolls from the audience. Despite the best efforts of Ferrell and Witherspoon, "You're Cordially Invited" ultimately falls flat as a silly and unfunny comedy. I would give it a rating of 2.5/5 stars.
